Overview

Bodegas Gallardo, the oldest winery in the municipality of Vejer offers cultural events, local gastronomy, wine pairings and tasting.

The winery follows the centuries-old tradition of the Gallardo family, winemakers since the 19th century, who in 1987 moved their bodega from Chiclana to La Barca de Vejer, a cool area protected from the winds, a natural port where wine has been traded since ancient times.

The town of Vejer is a white village in the south of Cádiz, situated very close to the Atlantic sea. The cultivation of vines was an important activity for centuries, due to the natural sunshine and the freshness of the land. Its wines, due to their quality, were taken all over the world from the Phoenicians in the Mediterranean to America, in the New World, by the Castilian and Andalusian sailors.

Today, the BODEGAS GALLARDO team works with the aim of maintaining the tradition with the future in mind, offering new products that are in line with market demands. Guided tours and events are organised, as well as tastings and wine pairings.
